As the year is approaching rapidly its end and we all make plans for the coming months, I wanted to remind you of the travel grant scheme of the European Cultural Foundation for young journalists.
It is a simple procedure for funding for journalism on popular and youth cultures in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Maybe you or someone you know would be interested in applying still during this year.
If the application is sent in this year, the travel can still be done during the first half of 2007.

Closer Look Funding scheme
A travel grant opportunity for journalists to explore popular and youth cultures in the neighbouring countries of the European Union.
What?
The European Cultural Foundation (ECF) supports the travel costs of young European journalists who wish to report on popular and youth cultures in the neighbouring countries of the European Union. The ECF gives priority to those topics which highlight aspects of cultural diversity and intercultural competence.
Why?
The Amsterdam-based ECF is an independent foundation which supports cultural cooperation as an important element of the European integration process.
Who?
European journalists under 35 who are interested in popular and youth cultures and are working in the print media, television or radio are eligible for support.
Where?
The eligible destinations are: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Turkey and Ukraine.
